What is ABA? is
The doctor just told you your child has autism. He/She then goes on to say your child needs all these services including ABA therapy. All the terms sound like Alphabet Soup to you, it is so confusing!
So what is ABA Therapy?
ABA therapy is a type of interpersonal (connection building), evidence-based (meaning researched and proven to work) learning therapy where your child works with a person trained in these principles. ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. Your child will work with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and their team both one-on-one and in groups, to increase and build their social and play skills, communication, learning/academics, self-regulation and support behavior challenges.

How much ABA will my child need?
At In Our World TLC, we believe the amount and duration of ABA is based on many factors determined during parent consultation and assessment but enough to make meaningful outcomes/change and still be able to be kids and part of their family and community.
